Media firebrand and yellow-shirt leader Sondhi Limthongkul remains healthy at Bangkok Remand Prison after being convicted of breaking the Securities and Exchange Act. There is no need to worry about the founder of the yellow-shirt People's Alliance for Democracy who is safe and healthy, Bangkok Remand Prison chief Thawatchai Chaiwat said Wednesday, denying an earlier rumour that Sondhi had suffered a stroke. Media cameramen were denied permission to record Sondhi being taken into the prison because, Mr Thawatchai said, there was "nothing special about it". Sondhi, the founder of listed Manager Media Group (MMG), and three former Manger directors were found guilty of falsifying loan guarantee documents for a 1.08 billion-baht loan guarantee documents from Krungthai Bank without approval from the MMG's board of directors. The loan was arranged for the M Group, a private company controlled by Sondhi and a major shareholder in MMG.
